The most endearing quality I find in women is there resilience. They take up challenges and beautiful stories out of what seems like a difficulty that was there to stop them. Sarah Tariq is one such fine lady. Sarah heads the famous Facebook community, Women Of Today, which aims at providing courage and motivation to all women alike. But who is Sarah Tariq? What is her story? We sat down for a heart to heart and we got to know someone who was more than just a social media entrepreneur.
What makes a Woman?
To me the answer for this is “Herself”.
Wear your hijab and confidence with pride. Know your values and priorities. Put Allah first. Trust Him. He works wonders.
I was a very shy person, didn’t know how to talk to people. Didn’t know how matters of life are dealt. Facing people gave me serious shivers. It all started changing within time. Maintaining a balance between your professional life, social life and, most importantly, ghareelo life was a bit difficult. I’m not a professional at heart, but would rather call myself a ghareelo. Thankyou Ammi!
The answer to what my passion is? “MULTI-TASKING”.
I created a social media group, Women Of Today, for something different. Think positive, the world needs it. Didn’t know that it will turn out so beautiful. Masha’Allah. I was needed at home so kept my priorities first, but sitting at home and helping others stand on their feet is always a good idea. Being selfless and down to earth elevates your standards. There is nothing more valuable than getting heartfelt duas from others.
Today, I want to pour out the words I feel for life, in a story.
People hardly know how, when or what they want to do professionally at early age. Most chefs today usually have at least one career before making the leap to full-time work in the Food and Hospitality industry. For some however, it’s the only thing they’ve ever considered. Becoming a chef after high school takes serious commitment and maturity.
Many people ask me if I am happy with my choice of becoming a chef after high school. My answer to them is yes, absolutely; I found what I am supposed to do in life. The pearls of wisdom for any aspiring culinary worker include keeping your ears open, leave your ego at the door and always remember you can learn from any situation, good or bad. Doesn’t mean that once you get out of your culinary school you become a chef overnight. It doesn’t work that way. You need to earn the respect of the crew.

Working in the kitchen is often hard because you’re on your feet for hours. It’s physically and mentally draining. I’m still learning but will recommend those passionate to give it a try. The love for kitchen has to be in you. You must have the passion because if no, either way you lose it along your chef journey, you’re dead right before you start. Push your expertise to a bigger level. Becoming a chef is not a piece of cake at all.
I didn’t have the slightest idea of how this profession can serve a being. Starting my journey was the best decision. We had classes and training. Day by day we learnt a lot more than just cooking, polished our skills, broadened our minds. I had my graduation last year as a certified chef and after that I did my internship at the Marriott. That was too a good experience.
After this, I started wondering; what to do now? Soon I jumped into food-styling. I practiced it professionally and took it’s certification as well. Behind every mouthwatering food image is an accomplished Food Stylist.

“Ab jab khana bhe pakgaya, plate bhe design hogae ab capture kese kiya jaey?” I started focusing on my photography skills. A good picture can always make one hungry!
After all this I started writing blogs related to Food and Life. So the journey which started from cooking leads you to a point where you can literally rule hearts. The respect is to be earned. The efforts are yet to be put in but it’s totally and always worth it.
“Life will give you trials, deal it with class. One day will be against you and one will be in favor. Stay between sabr and shukar,” Sarah Tariq
All the hours that I have spent figuring out all the hard jobs and now I feel confident to teach others all the knowledge that I have acquired.
A happy Certified Chef. Food stylist. Food photographer. And a food blogger. Alhumdolilah.❤
Life will give you trials, deal it with class. One day will be against you and one will be in favor. Stay between sabr and shukar.
I read it somewhere and it stuck to my heart,
“Zindagi mai barhi shiddat se nibhao apna kirdaar ke parda girney ke baad bhe taaliyan bajti rahein”.
